Teeth with orange caries were produced specifically for the NDEB examination prior to 2022. They were made with the same consistency material as the standard caries teeth but the simulated caries material was a bright orange color. The orange color provided better contrast with the seam where the crown and root are bonded together, often referred to as the 'grey line' which can become obscured with darker caries.
Only 1.3 and 3.6 were produced and sold as a set. Used in addition to standard simulated caries teeth, these help to practice and identify color contrast with the "grey line"
