In early 2024 the NDECC announced that they are changing from the 200 series 70 series models from October 2024. Let's go over the difference between the two series.
Model
The 700 series model looks similar to the 200 series and uses the same mounting hardware / articulator but the arches have some big differences. The sockets for the teeth are completely different and 200 series teeth will not fit. There are grooves and a notch in the sockets to prevent the teeth from rotating making for better contacts. The gums for the 700 series are a different shape and not compatible.
Teeth
200 series teeth are not compatible with 700 series models and vice versa. The material for the teeth is identical making the composition the same. The 700 series teeth have much more defined and detailed anatomy.
Types of Teeth
Standard replacement, precut and endo teeth are available for students to practice on. The codes and availability of specific teeth is limited and shown online.
